We are a naturopathic team with a focus on hormonal health at all stages of life. With a foundation in medical research and a deep respect for intuition, we bridge the gap between natural healing and modern science.

In our Signature Offering program, you will work closely with our lead patient-care physician, Dr. Krista Imre ND. You will also have access to support from a registered nurse (RN) and a functional nutritionist. Dr. Corina Dunlap oversees our Signature Offering program to ensure you receive the highest quality of care.

Meet Dr. Krista Imre

 

Dr. Krista Imre is a licensed naturopathic doctor (ND) and Ayurvedic specialist. Tapping into her deep holistic toolkit, Dr. Imre utilizes nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, nutraceuticals, Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, movement, art, and more to help women optimize their health and hormones. 

Raised outside of Yosemite National Park in a family of conventional doctors, she learned both to live in collaboration with the earth and also that something innately important was missing from the medical system—the recognition of patients as unique individuals. 

At Naturopathic by Design™, Dr. Imre strives to cultivate the physical, mental, and spiritual beauty that naturally resides within us all. She loves to uncover the mystery that makes each one of us unique and to tailor recommendations to resonate with specific circumstances. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Imre is mom to a toddler and co-authored the book Your Time To Thrive: Five Keys to Optimizing Health at Any Age.

We start with comprehensive labs and specialty testing. These tests are more thorough than anything you’ve probably ever had—to assess nutrient levels, blood sugar regulation, sex hormones, stress hormones, food sensitivities, gut health, and more.

Treatment is then individualized to you.

We aim to use the gentlest and most natural therapies possible but will prescribe medications (including bioidentical hormone replacement therapy) if it’s a good fit for you.

Includes lifestyle, exercise, dietary, and supplement plan (in the form of targeted botanicals, nutrients, or amino acids). If deemed necessary, pharmaceutical prescriptions and/or recommendations for additional medical services or testing add-ons may be included (see below). Virtual visit with Dr. Imre

Specialty Functional Testing

As part of our Signature Plan, every patient receives a $500 credit toward functional lab testing. These labs are selected by your naturopathic doctor to fit your individual needs and provide deeper insight into your health.

Examples of functional testing may include:

  • Gut & Microbiome Health: Functional stool and infection panel and microbiome analysis

  • Hormone & Stress Response: Cortisol (4-point salivary), NeuroAdrenal testing, urine-based histamine and hormone metabolites

  • Immune & Sensitivities: Celiac and gluten sensitivity testing, food allergy and sensitivity panels

  • Toxins & Environment: Heavy metals, mold, and other environmental toxicant assessments

Once you begin care, you and your provider will determine which tests are most valuable for you. Additional optional add-ons may include organic acids, expanded genetic testing, and more.

Core Blood Biomarkers

In addition to functional testing, your care includes baseline and follow-up bloodwork, tailored to your unique needs. These tests can often be run through your insurance and drawn at a local lab (e.g., LabCorp, Quest). For patients without insurance, we also offer discounted cash-based labs.

Common blood biomarkers we assess include:

  • General Health & Metabolism
    Complete Blood Count (CBC), Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), Glucose, Hemoglobin A1c, Fasting Insulin, Lipid panel, Gamma-glutamyl Transferase (GGT), High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP)

    Iron, TIBC, Ferritin, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Folate, Zinc RBC, Magnesium RBC, Homocysteine
